A Holistic and Secure Future

Our work extends far beyond physical relief. We adopt a comprehensive approach to development that addresses the root causes of vulnerability:
• Environmental Education & Awareness: We bring environmental learning to the grassroots. Our priority is to help communities understand why weather patterns are shifting and how it impacts their health and future. We believe that awareness is the first step toward protection.
• Mental & Social Well-being: Frequent floods and the loss of homes do more than just destroy property; they leave deep psychological scars. DVAS provides mental support and counseling to reduce the sense of stress and insecurity within these communities.
• Protecting Education (Educational Impact): During disasters, children’s education is often the first casualty. We work to ensure that the climate crisis does not disrupt academic learning. By reintegrating thousands of children into schools, we safeguard their right to learn.
• Biodiversity & Community Connection: The lives of marginalized communities are deeply intertwined with nature and biodiversity. We combine traditional wisdom with modern science to protect and revive local ecosystems.
• Empowering SC/ST & Weaker Sections: Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes, and other weaker sections, we train them to take up leadership roles in disaster management and community resilience.

Our Pillars of Action

• Safety Champion Friends: Training local youth as first responders who provide immediate assistance during crises.
• Sustainable Livelihoods: Ensuring food security through climate-resilient farming and water conservation techniques.
• Social Protection Shield: Connecting over 21,500+ urban poor and vulnerable individuals to government social security schemes and healthcare.
• Skill & Self-Reliance: Empowering adolescent girls and youth through vocational training to make them economically independent.

Our Impact: Beyond the Numbers

• 65,000+ Families provided with emergency relief, nutrition, and hygiene support.
• 65,000 Children kept within the mainstream education system through academic and mental health support during disasters.
• 28,500+ Young Women empowered through the 'Hunar Program,' gaining awareness of their rights and economic independence.
• 10,000 School Management Committees strengthened to ensure a resilient educational infrastructure.
