DVAS has been working on issues of disaster management with focus on sensitization and preventive measures among the community. The organization has organized several training programs on preparedness of the community in case of earthquakes and to take precautionary and protective measures in case of such emergent situation to minimize the loss of human lives. Over 500 community members have been trained by the organization under the process- on quick protective behavior and aftermath after earthquakes.
DVAS is also working in north Bihar which is has a number of rivers and witnesses floods on almost once in two years and causes great destructions in terms of loss of human lives and property and also results in livelihood loss and endemics. The organization has trained 1000 + PRI members, Local community and youths on emergency responses in case of floods in the area.
